Bricks 4-Kidz

We will again be offering the Bricks 4-Kidz Lego program on Thursdays beginning Thursday, February 23 and running four weeks. There will be no class the week of Spring Break. The unit this time will be Natural Disasters. Students will build models of Tornados, Cyclones and Tsunamis. The cost of the class is $45 and should be submitted prior to the first class or at the first class. Middle School Golf

Hello and happy pre-spring! Mid School Golf will have 6 tournaments this spring. The first one is Monday, Feb 20th and the last one will be April 28th. The first practice will be this Saturday, Feb. 18th, from 1-3 PM at UNM South Golf Course. Golf is open to boys and girls 5th -8th. Please call with questions, Derek Humes 266.7834.

Enchanted Evening Auction/Dinner

Invitations for An Enchanted Evening will go home with students this week. The Enchanted Evening will consist of a silent auction, dinner, and live auction. It is on Friday, March 2, from 5:30 to 9:00 pm. Please invite your family members, coworkers, neighbors and friends to this exciting event! Tickets are $13 per adult, $25 per couple, and are available in the school office. Babysitting will be available in the extended care area. We ask that you pack a sack supper for your child(ren). A free will offering will go to cover the cost of providing childcare. We hope to see you there!!!!!

ILS Talent Show

The ILS Talent Show will be held on Friday, February 17 at 6:00 p.m. in the gym. We invite you to join us as ILS students share their talent with us. Participants should arrive early to check in with Mrs. Rickords and Mrs. Firstenburg. The 8th grade class will be serving dinner from 5:00-5:45. We hope you can join us for this special evening.

Indoor Track Meet

Elijah Brown-Black, Kyle Packingham, Gustavo Collazo, and Alejandro Goldston represented ILS in a relay race at the Great Southwest Classic indoor track meet this past weekend. The other teams in the race were from Sandia Prep, St. Mary’s Belen, and St. Mary’s Albuquerque. Each runner ran one 200-meter lap on the oval track; all four ran very well and our team won! Congratulations, guys!

Mr. Bartels’ Sunday

On Sunday, February 19 Immanuel Lutheran Church and School will celebrate Walter Bartels’ seventy years in the teaching ministry and his 90th birthday. Mr. Bartels served as principal of Immanuel Lutheran School from 1959 through 1987 and was recognized in 1987 as a Master Teacher by Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska and by the Rocky Mountain District. We will celebrate Mr. Bartels service with a potluck and ceremony following the late service on Sunday February 19. School families are invited to join us for this special celebration.
